Update #20 – Shipping, Test Shots & Extras

Hi everyone,

Wave 1 shipping has officially begun! If you have selected expedited shipping or have just Wave 1, your notification will be going out soon. If you can, then please share on your socials and with your friends when you get your figures. 

Here’s how BackerKit’s process works (so you know what those steps/ emails mean):
Lock Orders → no more changes or add-ons. If you want to add more figures, you should do that before orders are locked. For now I am just locking Wave 1 orders. 
Charge Cards → Backerkit will charge for shipping/taxes, if applicable.
Lock Addresses → final confirmation of where your package is going.
Shipping → your rewards head out the door!

This all happens step by step, so don’t worry if you don’t see everything at once. It’s rolling out in batches.

On the fun side:

• Prototypes: We’ve received some photos of Wave 2 and I’ll share more once they arrive here in the US.
• Mini-Comic Art: Pages are starting to come in. I’ll post some sneak peeks soon!
• Box Remarques: I’ve had a few requests for remarks on boxes. I’m doing these with a smudge-proof marker so they’re permanent little extras. 😅

Things are moving along, and I’m so grateful for all the support and energy around this project. Can’t wait for more of you to start unboxing these figures!

Update #19 - Surveys for "Pledge Over Time" backers and Next Steps

Hi everyone,

I come with new info I just got from BackerKit today. Some of you had reached out that the surveys haven't reached you yet and in turn I had asked Backerkit when all surveys would be sent out, and they said they already have. When I pointed out the numbers, they clarified: if you’re on a “Pledge Over Time” plan, your survey will only go out once Kickstarter has collected your full pledge amount. That’s just how Kickstarter’s system works. So if you haven't already, you will receive your Survey sometime in October.

Apologies again for any confusion. And if you’ve already paid in full but haven’t received a survey, please let me know.

That said, everything else is still moving forward exactly as planned. Here’s where we stand:

Surveys: Already 50% completed. Thank you to everyone who filled them out!

Pledge-over-time backers: Your rewards are safe and reserved. Your survey will be sent the after Kickstarter finishes collecting your pledge(mostly October).

Shipping Prep:

• Shipping materials have been ordered.
• There are 4 steps before fulfillment begins:
  • Lock orders
  • Charge cards for shipping/add-ons
  • Lock addresses
  • Once addresses are locked, shipping will begin in batches.

Fulfillment Plan:

First out the door: Wave 1 orders, Split shipments (Wave 1 now, Wave 2 later), Retailer orders

Pledge-over-time backers: You’ll have more time. But if you see me at a convention and want to pick up in person, just share your backer details and we’ll make it happen.

I’m working to get these out as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Update #18 – All Surveys Sent!

Hi everyone,

Great news -> all BackerKit surveys have now been sent out! 

If you haven’t already, please check your email and fill yours out at your earliest convenience. The sooner surveys are completed, the sooner we can start shipping rewards (Wave 1 fulfillment begins very soon).

Also, if you haven't received your survey yet, don't worry. It might take some time to reach everyone.

A few important notes about the survey:

Pledge Questions - You’ll see some campaign-specific questions, such as:

• Do you want your name included in the mini-comic?
• Would you like Wave 1 now and Wave 2 later, or everything together?

Convention Pickups -

If you plan on picking up Wave 1 at a convention, please select just one shipping option (for Wave 2) in your survey.

If you’re local to New Jersey, we can also arrange a pickup for Wave 2, just let me know.

I’ll keep posting my conventionschedule (Titans Toy Expo, Baltimore Comic Con, LegionsCon, etc.), so you’ll have multiple chances.

If you’ve already paid shipping but later pick up in person, I’ll figure out a way to make it right (partial refund or credit).

Shipping Addresses - Please make sure the address you enter is one where you’ll still be able to receive packages next year. You’ll also have a chance to update your address later before we ship Wave 2.

Add-Ons - Don’t forget, you can grab extras through the survey.

Deadlines - Surveys will be open for a while, but the faster you fill them out, the faster we can lock orders and ship.

Update #17 - BackerKit Smoke Test + What to Expect

Hi everyone,

The BackerKit smoke test has gone out! This means about 5% of you have already received your surveys. It’s just a way to make sure everything is working smoothly before the rest are sent. If you didn’t get one yet, don’t worry, yours will be coming very soon.

Since this may be new for many of you, here’s how BackerKit works in a few simple steps(very intuitive but I have tried to break it down to 7 steps):

1.Check your email - You’ll get an email from BackerKit with a personalized survey link.

2.Confirm your pledge - Review what you pledged for on Kickstarter to make sure it’s correct.

3.Answer pledge questions - For example:

• Would you like your name included in the mini-comic?
• Do you prefer to ship Wave 1 now and Wave 2 later, or everything together?

4. Choose add-ons (optional) - Want extras? For example, the Army Builder Meghnad is available for just $35. You can add it here. Or any other figure per se.

5. Enter your shipping address - This is how we’ll know where to send your rewards. You can choose local pickup as well. If we have spoken before about a pickup location etc. please select local pickup. That will save you money on shipping. And yes, if you have any question at all, reach out to me through any social channels and I can help you out.

6. Pay for shipping/ Tax (and add-ons, if any) - Shipping wasn’t collected on Kickstarter, so this will be added now. You can also choose single shipment or two shipments.

7. Submit your survey - Once done, you’re locked in and ready for fulfillment!

👉 Important: The faster you complete your survey, the faster I can ship your rewards. Wave 1 fulfillment starts next week, so early survey completion = early shipping.

Update #16 – Imp! What to Expect from BackerKit (+ Payment Timing)

Hey everyone,

Now that the dust has settled a bit, here’s a quick roadmap of what’s next.

Kickstarter Payments (This Week & Next)

Kickstarter will be charging cards over the next ~10 days (and re-attempting any failed payments during the following week).

If your card fails, Kickstarter will automatically retry and you’ll also get an email from them.

I’ll keep an eye out for any flagged pledges and reach out to help if needed. Thanks in advance for double-checking your payment method so nothing slips! Message me directly if you have any questions/ concerns.

BackerKit – What’s Coming

Shipping Address Collection: You’ll receive a BackerKit survey to confirm your pledge and enter your shipping address. It is important to fill out the survey in time to ensure timely delivery. We will keep the window open for a few weeks. You can purchase anything you want extra and input your shipping address.

Shipping Charges: Shipping will be collected in BackerKit (not on Kickstarter). I’ll keep it as affordable and trackable as possible.

Flexible Fulfillment:

• Two shipments: If you have figures from both waves, you can choose to have Wave 1 now, Wave 2 later, or
• One shipment: Everything together at the end.
• Local Pickup / Show Hand‑Off: If you’d prefer pickup (local or at shows like Baltimore Comic Con, LegionsCon, etc.), just indicate that in the survey and we’ll arrange it.
• NJ/ NY: If you want to meet up and get your figures, let me know.
• Retailers: I will reach out to you individually and will plan delivery. (Thanks again for your support with this!)
• India: I’ll coordinate with you individually to arrange delivery.
• Outside the US and India: I’ll reach out when it’s time to choose the safest, most cost‑effective option.

Pre‑Order Store: BackerKit will open a short pre‑order store for latecomers. Prices there will be slightly higher than Kickstarter (about +$5 per figure/pack).

Some bundles (accessories or figures like Raqqamyaze) will remain Kickstarter‑exclusive.
