Update #17 - BackerKit Smoke Test + What to Expect

Hi everyone,

The BackerKit smoke test has gone out! This means about 5% of you have already received your surveys. It’s just a way to make sure everything is working smoothly before the rest are sent. If you didn’t get one yet, don’t worry, yours will be coming very soon.

Since this may be new for many of you, here’s how BackerKit works in a few simple steps(very intuitive but I have tried to break it down to 7 steps):

1.Check your email - You’ll get an email from BackerKit with a personalized survey link.

2.Confirm your pledge - Review what you pledged for on Kickstarter to make sure it’s correct.

3.Answer pledge questions - For example:

• Would you like your name included in the mini-comic?
• Do you prefer to ship Wave 1 now and Wave 2 later, or everything together?

4. Choose add-ons (optional) - Want extras? For example, the Army Builder Meghnad is available for just $35. You can add it here. Or any other figure per se.

5. Enter your shipping address - This is how we’ll know where to send your rewards. You can choose local pickup as well. If we have spoken before about a pickup location etc. please select local pickup. That will save you money on shipping. And yes, if you have any question at all, reach out to me through any social channels and I can help you out.

6. Pay for shipping/ Tax (and add-ons, if any) - Shipping wasn’t collected on Kickstarter, so this will be added now. You can also choose single shipment or two shipments.

7. Submit your survey - Once done, you’re locked in and ready for fulfillment!

👉 Important: The faster you complete your survey, the faster I can ship your rewards. Wave 1 fulfillment starts next week, so early survey completion = early shipping.

Update #16 – Imp! What to Expect from BackerKit (+ Payment Timing)

Hey everyone,

Now that the dust has settled a bit, here’s a quick roadmap of what’s next.

Kickstarter Payments (This Week & Next)

Kickstarter will be charging cards over the next ~10 days (and re-attempting any failed payments during the following week).

If your card fails, Kickstarter will automatically retry and you’ll also get an email from them.

I’ll keep an eye out for any flagged pledges and reach out to help if needed. Thanks in advance for double-checking your payment method so nothing slips! Message me directly if you have any questions/ concerns.

BackerKit – What’s Coming

Shipping Address Collection: You’ll receive a BackerKit survey to confirm your pledge and enter your shipping address. It is important to fill out the survey in time to ensure timely delivery. We will keep the window open for a few weeks. You can purchase anything you want extra and input your shipping address.

Shipping Charges: Shipping will be collected in BackerKit (not on Kickstarter). I’ll keep it as affordable and trackable as possible.

Flexible Fulfillment:

• Two shipments: If you have figures from both waves, you can choose to have Wave 1 now, Wave 2 later, or
• One shipment: Everything together at the end.
• Local Pickup / Show Hand‑Off: If you’d prefer pickup (local or at shows like Baltimore Comic Con, LegionsCon, etc.), just indicate that in the survey and we’ll arrange it.
• NJ/ NY: If you want to meet up and get your figures, let me know.
• Retailers: I will reach out to you individually and will plan delivery. (Thanks again for your support with this!)
• India: I’ll coordinate with you individually to arrange delivery.
• Outside the US and India: I’ll reach out when it’s time to choose the safest, most cost‑effective option.

Pre‑Order Store: BackerKit will open a short pre‑order store for latecomers. Prices there will be slightly higher than Kickstarter (about +$5 per figure/pack).

Some bundles (accessories or figures like Raqqamyaze) will remain Kickstarter‑exclusive.

I’ll share the BackerKit link as soon as it’s live. Thank you again for your support and patience. We can’t wait to get these into your hands. 🙏🏼

Update #15 – We Did It Together! 🙏🏼

We not only funded, but went beyond the goal and ended at $71,340. I can’t thank you all enough for making this dream a reality. Every single pledge, share, and word of encouragement made this happen, and I’m beyond grateful. 🙏🏼

A few important notes as we move forward(Please read!😂):

1. We’re a small but mighty group - 251 backers! If you have any questions or issues, please reach out to me directly. We’ll resolve everything together. 
2. Retailers backed us too - they helped push us over the finish line. That means they’ll receive their rewards as well, so don’t be surprised if you see some figures listed through their channels down the line.
3. BBTS Backstock - BBTS informed me they have a small amount of Wave 1 backstock from their own factory pickup that they’ll be listing on their site. I don’t control that inventory, but I wanted you all to know upfront. Some of their preorder customers also backed the Kickstarter, so they’ll be balancing both. BBTS was one of the earliest to support us, so I don’t want to hold them back from selling the few they may have left.
4. More for you - To make sure your pledges remain special, I’ll be adding a little something extra just for Kickstarter backers:
   1. If you’d like, I can sign your figure box or even add a small remarque (sketch).
   2. Every backer will also get a unique tarot card included with their order, a little token of thanks that won’t be available anywhere else. 
   3. And of course, all the Kickstarter-exclusive rewards (extra heads, Raqqamayze, etc.) remain only for you, our backers.
5. BackerKit is next - very soon you’ll get a survey to confirm your pledge, add extras if you’d like, and provide your shipping details. I’m still finalizing setup but it won’t be long.
6. Fulfillment starts soon - Wave 1 is already here in the U.S.! Kickstarter will collect pledge amounts over the next two weeks, then take about another week for processing. We’ll try to have BackerKit ready in parallel, so we can begin shipping Wave 1 as soon as possible.
7. Army Builder Meghnad -And finally, as a thank-you, we’ll be introducing the Army Builder Meghnad figure on BackerKit. It’ll be a simpler version with fewer accessories and a lower price, perfect if you’d like to customize or build ranks 

Once again, thank you for putting your trust in me and this project. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to get these figures into your hands. 🙏🏼

(Also I have been advised to sleep for two days straight to recover! 😂)

Update #14 - Funded!!! 🙏🏼

We did it! Thanks to each and every one of you, Legends of the Ramayan is now officially funded. I’m deeply grateful for the incredible support you’ve shown throughout this campaign. From pledges to shares to words of encouragement, it’s all added up to make this dream a reality. Without you, this wouldn't have been possible. 

But we’re not done yet! There’s still one more day left in the campaign. And if by some miracle we hit $65k, we’ll unlock an additional version of Meghnad. Yes, one that comes with fewer accessories and at a lower price point, making it easier for more backers to bring him home. And at the same time giving customizers an opportunity to use one of our dhoti clad figures to create more warriors. Below is a quick mockup of what I am thinking. As this is not retail yet, I can offer this to backers for less.

So if you’ve been thinking about adding another figure, or if you know someone who’s been on the fence, now is the time. Every pledge in these last hours counts! All-ins, test shots, Raqqamayze, everything helps! 😅

Update #13: How to Safely Add more rewards to Your Pledge (and a Little Something for “The Violated” Fans!)

Hey everyone,

We’ve had a few folks reach out because they wanted to add more figures, books, or accessories to their pledge but weren’t sure how to do it.

Here’s the safest way to edit your pledge and add more goodies:

How to Add to Your Pledge (Step-by-Step)

• Click “Manage Your Pledge” on our Kickstarter page.
• Click “Change Your Pledge” (don’t use “Cancel”, that will drop your reward completely).
• Select your original reward tier again. This is important -> if you skip this step, you could lose your early bird or original reward.
• Scroll down to Add-Ons and choose the extra figures, books, or packs you’d like.
• Save/Confirm your changes and Kickstarter will update your total.

Tip: You can add to your pledge as many times as you want before the campaign ends!

Helpful 1 min video - 

Special Note for Early Bird Backers
If you have an Early Bird pledge and want to add anything extra, you probably won’t see your original prices in the add-on menu.
Just message me here on Kickstarter with what you want, and I’ll make it work for you without affecting your early bird pricing.

For “The Violated” Fans:
If you’re grabbing The Violated books as part of your pledge (softcover or hardcover), you can let me know if you’d like:

• A signed copy 
• A personalized inscription (I love writing letters and making pen pals!)
• Or, for hardcover backers, a quick sketch inside 

Just message me here on Kickstarter after you’ve confirmed your pledge, and I’ll make it happen. 😄
